Using indigenous knowledge to promote cowpea production and utilization in Uganda (2014-2016). The goal of this project is to collate indigenous knowledge (IK) on cowpea production and utilization, and incorporate it into scientific research to enhance cowpea production. The project is expected to improved income of women smallholder farmers, and enhanced food security and nutrition among rural households in Uganda. The project is funded by the Competitive Grants Scheme of the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) (US$90,000).
