The newly constructed buildings at Muni University were blessed on Friday, July 1, 2016 during a joint inter-religious service. The service was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Picho Epiphany Odubuker assisted by Rev. Acema Patrick, Rev. Fr. Solomon Ngos Pacuto and an Imam.

While preaching during the service, Rev. Acema called on the University Staff and students to safeguard the University buildings and ensure that it is used by the coming generations.
Hon. Kamillo Sabo who represented the University Council gave a brief history of how they lobbied for the University and thanked the government for granting Muni University for the people of Uganda and locating it in West Nile.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Christine Dranzoa (the University Vice Chancellor), Associate Prof. Anguma Simon Katrini (the Deputy Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs), Students, Staff and members of the Community.

Prof. Christine commended the students and staff for being patient as external works of the University progressed. She urged the students to take good care of the structures and asked everyone to keep Muni clean. She further emphasized that Muni University is a no corruption and smoking zero zone and to that effect a signpost will be put at the entrance of the University. Rev. Fr. Dr. Picho used the occasion to provide accountability for the funds government spent for the construction works and to launch a program to keep Muni University clean and green.

The premises were blessed with Holy Water collected from River Jordan in Israel by Rev. Fr. Dr. Picho Epiphany Odubuker. A cocktail party organized at the University Guest Wing crowned the joyful day.
