The Developer Students Club (DSC) has been launched at Muni University during a workshop held on Friday 6th July, 2018.

DSC is a Google Developers program for university students within sub-Saharan Africa, designed to help them build their mobile and web development skills and knowledge. It is open to any student, ranging from novice developers who are just starting, to advanced developers who want to further their skills. Mugisha Samuel, a student of Muni university pursuing Bsc of Information System was selected by the Google Representatives to be the DSC Lead 2018/2019 at Muni University.

The Workshop involved hands on sessions where students were introduced to Firestore and Firebase hosting with python3.6+ by Mr.Adriko Debo Joel, a software Engineer, Technologist and Sci-Fi flash writer and System Developer at IdeaLink Africa, Introduction to emerging trends of Machine Language and Artificial Intelligence with python  by Nkamwesiga Nicholas,assistant Lecturer Computer Engineering, Muni University, and finally introduction to Android development with Java by Mugisha Samuel, the DSC Lead.

The Guest of Honor at the launch was Mr.Ayeko Charles, Managing Director iDeaLink Africa Ltd. He gave career guidance to the students and highlighted on the various google products.
