The Executive Director Nature Uganda Mr. ByaruhangaAchiles officially launched the Nature Uganda Muni University branch on 2nd March 2019 and donated a number of items to support the activities of the organisation including; 1 Desktop Computer,5 Binoculars,1 Telescope,1 Bird Guide book, various sets of publicity materials as well as a book containing the Economic Evaluation of what saved the Mabira Forest.

He said Muni University is the fifth and latest Branch but is running faster than the other branches and so will be responsible for the entire West Nile Region adding he is pleased with the Membership at the University which stands at 144 and have got good sustainability measures some of which are better than those at the Secretariat level.

According to Mr Byaruhanga, Nature Uganda operates on three pillars

Public education and awareness; to raise awareness about the values of Nature.

Research; todocument the diversity of Wild Life in Uganda and Conservation based on 4 principles; priorityspecies, priorityHabitants, priority Cites and values of all the three.

He revealed that over 50 Million Uganda Shillings is generated from Bird watches every year as many Tourists come to watch Birds.

He urged members to educate others about Nature and Conservation
The Dean of Students Madam Amandru Stella Wawa who represented the Vice Chancellor said she was excited and grateful for the gift of Nature Uganda and thanked the Executive Director for the establishment of Nature Uganda Muni University.she said one of the core mandates of the University is Outreach and Nature Uganda Muni University is fulfilling this mandate by taking part of the responsibilities through its outreach activities.

She made an appeal for a sub region office to be established in Arua because of the strategic location as well as citing a number of natural resources hidden in the region like the Miradua Falls in Maraca District and Yiacalu Falls in OlukoSub CountyArua District and identify their capacity as the communities have no capacity to invest in these opportunities.

She commended the Patron of Nature Uganda Muni University Mr. ImranEjotre for his resilience, persistence and focus saying the club has contributed greatly to the cleanliness of the Institution.

She appreciated the Guild Leadership for their support to the activities of Nature Uganda Muni University and requested for funding to support the activities of the club. She thanked the ED for the donations and promised to lobby for office space for the club within the University,a request that had been made by the Executive Director.
