The Uganda-Germany Investment Symposium(UGIS)preparations are in high gear. HE. Dr. Robert Mwesigwa Rukaare, Chairperson of the National Organisation Committee (NOC) of the UGIS, visited Muni University to hold meetings with the Muni University Orgainsing Committee to ascertain the progress of the preparations for the UGIS.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs Prof. Anguma Simon Katrini welcomed the NOC Chairperson and his team to the university and briefed them on how the university came to be established.
He revealed that the university has so far held three important events that is, Commissioning of the University on 12th August 2016, presided over by HE. Yoweri kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda which attracted about 1000 people, Two Graduation Ceremonies that attracted about 600 people each and this is yet another gigantic event which will attract guests from Germany, neighboring countries, Uganda and the locals for this Investment Symposium.
He further informed the meeting that on behalf of the Council and Top Management they have taken the assignment from the government positively and will take it to the Promised Land as expected.
He Thanked the Government of Uganda for choosing Muni University to host this event since the objective of the symposium is in line with the University Mission, Vision and Core values.

The Chairperson Muni University Organising Committee Mr.Tibrichu Habib Amin welcomed the NOC Chairperson and his team, together with the Deputy Resident  District Commissioner , and the District Police Commander  to Muni University and to the meeting.
He revealed that the University Council is proud of the government’s initiative adding, four committees have been formed that is National Organizing Committee (NOC), Regional Organizing Committee (ROC), Muni University Organizing Committee (MUOC), and Distinguished Elders and Youth Committee.

According to Mr.Tibrichu, this project will attract employment opportunity for the youths of West Nile Region and the greater North.
He informed the Chair NOC that that Muni University is prepared, the University Investments Company is comprehensive that it will take the event past the area and promised to sustain the impact of the Symposium.
Noted that Universities from the neighbouring countries like Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and South Sudan (SS) have been identified and invited as well as potential investors from Germany.
He said, Identification of Exhibitors is on-going, youths, women groups and 50 stalls shall be set-up for them hence requested the DPC, and RDC to mobilize the community for the event.
He informed the Team that all the information on the Symposium can be accessed from the University Website and encouraged all to check the website
He thanked the NOC Team and all the Members for coming and wished them fruitful discussions.

HE. Dr Robert Mwesigwa expressed happiness for being at Muni University and informed the meeting that Operation Wealth Creation wants to see that the event is successful.
That three departments are involved in this event, the Public sector, private sector and developing partners therefore they are mobilizing different entrepreneurs, to participate through fund raising, like the UNDP, FAO among others.
He further informed the meeting that most of the partners have confirmed attendance and advised that all the different committees need to work together in order to communicate as a team hence proper flow of communication.
He advised that youth groups, women groups and individuals needed to be involved so that they are skilled by the potential investors from Germany.
He assured the Team committee that, the NOC are used to organizing this kind of functions and therefore, emphasized on quality outcome of the event.
He recognised West Nile as an open boarder for commercialization and would act as a link to the neighbouring countries like DRC and S. Sudan therefore the need to embrace this function.
He revealed that they are inviting Ministers, the Presidential advisor for DRC and he has confirmed attendance, and Minister for Commerce for Central African Republic.
He was accompanied by Mr.Peter Mwaji NOC Researcher, Annie N.Katushabe Consultant UGIS, and Amiyia Sharon NOC Secretary.
