Muni University Empowers Future Leaders: 2025/2026 Guild Cabinet Inducted Under the Theme 'Forging the Future Together'

In a bold step toward nurturing visionary leaders and driving national transformation, Muni University officially inducted its 2025/2026 Guild Cabinet through a two-day intensive leadership program held on July 30–31, 2025, at the University Council Hall, Arua Campus.

The program, organized by the Office of the Dean of Students, was held under the inspiring theme “Forging the Future Together,” reflecting Muni University’s ongoing mission to produce not just graduates, but purpose-driven, socially responsible changemakers.

Led by Madam Stella Amandru, the Dean of Students, the event brought together newly elected Guild Cabinet members from across all faculties for an empowering journey of mentorship, skills development, and vision alignment.

“Many institutions stop at inauguration. At Muni, we go further, we invest in our student leaders so they can represent their peers with wisdom, integrity, and purpose. That’s the Muni difference,” said Madam Amandru.

The program covered a wide range of relevant topics including financial management, servant leadership, protocol and communication, mental health awareness, crisis response, self-confidence, and legal frameworks within the university system.

Key contributors included Prof. Jacob Agea, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), who emphasized the strategic role of student leadership in realizing Muni University’s vision, and Mr. Isaac Adroamabe, the University Counselor, who guided participants through sessions on mental health and value-based leadership.

“Attending lectures instead of sleeping is a choice. Leadership means prioritizing what truly matters not only for you, but for the community you serve,” Mr. Adroamabe told the student leaders.

Guild President Hon. Mungueconi Stephen appreciated the induction’s clarity:

“We now understand the weight and boundaries of our responsibilities. We’re ready to serve better.”

Finance Minister Ms. Asuru Justine added:

“This program taught me how to advocate responsibly for all students, especially marginalized groups. It’s not about holding an office it’s about living the values of service and impact.”

This induction is more than a formality, it’s a strategic investment in youth leadership, community engagement, and national development. Muni University is not only providing world-class education, but also building a generation of leaders who will shape policies, lead institutions, and transform society.

With a solid foundation in research, innovation, and community transformation, Muni University is calling on development partners, donors, NGOs, and visionary stakeholders to join this journey.

Together, we can expand these leadership programs, support underfunded student initiatives, and invest in the leaders Uganda and Africa desperately need.
