On behalf of the university community, I am excited to welcome you to Muni University and congratulate you on your admission. While for most of you, this marks a significant milestone in your educational journey, right from nursery, primary, secondary, and finally to university, and for others, especially those pursuing graduate studies and the in-service students, it is a moment to reassess and address gaps in skills and technical knowledge.
A university is a place that offers you an opportunity to propel yourself into the future. Therefore, it is important to recognize that a university is more than just lectures, exams, and assignments; rather, it is a vibrant space where critical thinking, creativity, and character are cultivated. You will also be exposed to various professionals, mentors, and experts, and encounter new ideas, engage in meaningful debates with peers, and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds. This experience will help you discover your passion and build a strong foundation for your future. I therefore encourage you to embrace this diversity as it will challenge your perspectives and broaden your understanding of the university and the world.
Don't worry about how to achieve this. You will go through an orientation that will help you navigate with minimal challenges, and it is important to report on the first day because each day offers unique experiences and important information to connect you for the rest of your study time at Muni University. During the orientation, you will also realize the importance of time management in balancing academics, extracurricular activities, social life, and personal wellness, which all require discipline and planning.
You will further learn to take responsibility for your learning by taking initiative, asking questions, seeking knowledge beyond the classroom, and never fear failure, for it is often a growth path.
Students on government sponsorship are expected to have registered mobile money numbers that will be individually presented to the office of the Dean of Students for data capture and subsequent processing of living–out allowance. This verification exercise will take place after enrollment and registration in the AIMS. The payment of allowances will not be instant; you are therefore advised to come with enough pocket money to enable you to manage life on campus.
Muni University values integrity and respect for peers and the community, so be prepared to uphold academic honesty and take your studies seriously, starting with orientation. Remember, learning is a lifelong journey. What you discover later in your coursework, projects, conversations, and experiences will eventually prepare you not just for a career but for life.
The orientation for the undergraduate students is scheduled to take place from Monday, August 4th to Friday, August 8th, 2025, while other groups of post-graduate Diplomas, Master's, and in-service students will report from August 9th -10th, and August 25th- 26th, respectively, for a two-day orientation as indicated in the Academic Almanac. You are all expected to arrive and attend on the first day. Student leaders will be available to guide you to the different locations. (Refer to the orientation program).
We are excited to experience the fresh perspective and energy you will bring to our campus as you prepare to learn, grow, and thrive with an amazing community of students and staff every step of the way.
Once again, welcome, and I wish you all a successful stay at Muni University. For God and my Country and for Transforming Lives.
